GQ: Hello. Thank you for taking this time to be interviewed by me. It’s a blessing.
Adrienne: Thank you.
GQ: So, tell me…what’s new with RiZen?
Adrienne: Hi, this is Adrienne, and our new CD Rizen 2 will be released May 17th and we’re very excited about that. The CD is just Rizen to the second power.
GQ: What can we expect from this new album differently than the first album?
Aundrea: You can expect all of us singing. We have more energy, more excitement. The music is just high in-depth and off the chain. We still have the praise and worship, we still have the ballads, and we still have the hard rock. Everything’s the same except, the music and energy, which has gone to another level, and of course our vocals. So we’re just very excited.
GQ: What producers did you use for this album?
Kanika: Well, we used the same producers we did last time, including the great producers; Sanchez Harley along with Adrienne and Aundrea’s brother, Ay’Ron Lewis.
GQ: So you all are from Saginaw, Michigan, correct?
All: [responses] Yes. That’s right.
GQ: So what’s the connection with Detroit because people consider you all to be a part of the Detroit family?
[laughs]
Kanika: Right. Detroit is like an hour and a half away from us, so we’re not too far from Detroit.
Adrienne: And really, nobody even knows anything about Saginaw. So they just think we’re from Detroit. So when you think of a singing group, you think of Detroit, Michigan.
GQ: And I am excited about this new release, because I have been anticipating on the CD.
All: [responses]
GQ: So how was Sisters In The Spirit 2005?
All: Oh it was off the chain. Off the chain. Oh. It was wonderful!
Adrienne: It was an experience that, you have to have been there to experience it. We have just learned so much from Yolanda Adams, Kelly Price, Sheila E., Martha, and Juanita. I mean it was just like a big family…All just really sisters, that’s the way we act. We went over each other’s houses, and we just had a ball.
GQ: Well, once again, thank you for taking the time be interviewed.
